Bunker Spreckels, Surfings Original Playboy June 28, 2010 – Tags: ,

(1949-1977) A few months ago my girlfriend Told me the wild story of the short lived Hollywood Playboy and Surfing superstar Bunker Spreckels.
Famous for his unique and stylish surfing abilities in his early teenager years, Bunker Spreckels was later known for his dangerous and excessive lifestyle which later succumbed to his death at the tender age of 27..
Bunker was the stepson of Clark Gable “The King of Hollywood” and the star of the classic movie “Gone with the wind”, and also heir to the sugar fortune of Adolph B. Spreckels III.  Bunker soon became a privileged Hollywood party boy and took claim to an inheritance of a multimillion dollar fortune, this caused Bunker to leave surfing behind and take the path of sex, drugs and wild travels.
At 25 years of age Bunker paid a Filmer to document his life but the project was cut short when Bunker died of so called “natural causes” two years later. Now the photos and footage has been recovered and made into a film full of exclusive interviews and epic tales.
check out  the trailor and get your hands on a copy, the book called (Bunker Spreckels: Surfing’s Divine Prince of Decadence) it sits on my coffee table and is a must read for every avid surfer or fashion guru.
