Tradewind Surf WSL Fantasy Surfer picks for Margarets March 24, 2017 – Tags: , , , , ,

In one fell swoop, or should I say one swell swoop, Snapper is done & we are already thinking about Margaret River in a weeks time! But first, congratulations to “Telmo’s Picks” who convincingly took down the other 100 Fantasy Surfer competitors & won the Snapper comp in the Tradewind Surf Fantasy League. His prize of a Famous pack is on the way!
So into the picks for Margarets & at this stage there is 23 other people that are better qualified to do this than me after a 24th place finish for me after Snapper. But, il continue to pick, maybe not listening to my picks is the key. Margarets to me looks like a frustrating spot for the top guys, but hopefully there is some swell like previous years & we can watch some good surfing. Wilko has backed up his start to last year with a second place at the Quik & he is looking good. Julian Wilson has some form out there & who could forget the Seabass win last year!
To the old boys & I reckon that Parko is going to be good again at Margaret’s & also Mick, especially after not getting the start he wanted at Snapper. Kelly from memory has not had the best run at Margarets, but look for him if they go to the Box & am not sure if he is classed as one of the old boys yet, but Wilko should also challenge, even though, I hate to admit, but I have never put Wilko in a Fantasy Surfer team, maybe it is time I took note.
Coming into the rookie side of the field & I am going to stick with Ethan Ewing, his first wave I believe is a sign of things to come, he only needs a tiny bit of luck & he is going to be dangerous! Was stoked to see Connor O’leary do a great job at Snapper & is going to be interesting to see how he does at Margarets
For everyone else, I guess John has to be watched everywhere now especially if the Box is an option. Medina is looking sharp & Italo showed some brilliance at Snapper, although he is now injured for possibly the rest of the Aussie leg. Could quite possibly be an all over the place year again & it makes this Fantasy Surfer caper all the more interesting. Happy picking & good luck!
